Why Japanese?
Hello friends, my name is Harry Peluso. As I take on the unique experience of ND and first year Japanese, I will document my adventures for all of you guys. I’m excited to learn Japanese because my mother is a native of the “Land of the Rising Sun”. I was able to speak a bit of the language while I was younger, but over the years, I have mostly lost that ability. This is why I am excited to be in the first year Japanese intro course to develop a strong foundation that I can build upon. Additionally, I am hoping to study abroad in Tokyo where I can use my Japanese and learn about the city’s great infrastructure and civil engineering endeavors.
It's interesting to know that you spoke some Japanese when you were younger, so I'm curious if you may subconsciously remember certain words and phrases as the year progresses. Studying abroad in Tokyo sounds amazing as well.
ReplyDeleteStudying abroad sounds like a great way to speed up the language learning process. It also seems really scary being in a country across the world and not being fluent in their main language. I'll be honest, I'm a bit jealous that you have a fluent speaker in your family as I'm sure it can be fun to converse with them with whatever language you learned that day!
ReplyDeleteIf you don't remember me I am the guy that lost the key. It's cool to see that you want to learn the native language of your mom.
